African Safari Trails
African Safari Trails is a family-owned and professional hunting lodge located in the heart of Namibia, in 18 000 acres of privately owned bushveld situated northeast of Windhoek, and a two-hour drive from the capital.
We offer 25 different species of huntable game including the majestic sable and roan antelopes.
Distances in the hunting area are covered by 4×4, and once we have spotted a suitable animal, the hunt continues on foot. The hunt is challenging and the terrain is rocky, with high, table-top mountains and vast valleys. Roads generally are not really good, and we have to find our way through the dry riverbeds or rocky valleys.
African Safari Trails also holds a concession situated on the south-western border of the Etosha National Park. The concession is one million acres (363.000 ha) in size, and beautiful mountainous landscapes vary with vast expanding valleys.
African Safari Trails holds the sole hunting right in the entire area, with no fences, and it is the natural habitat for common antelopes such as greater kudu, gemsbok, springbok, klipspringer, and game such as elephant, leopard, lion and mountain zebra.
Gerrit Utz, your professional big-game hunting guide of African Safari Trails, together with his team of trained and experienced trackers and skinners, will make your hunt a great memory of a successful African safari.
Our guests are accommodated in private and comfortable guest rooms with en suite bathroom, and within the concession we have a comfortable tented camp with en suite bathrooms. All meals are freshly prepared and cooked on an open fireplace. Usually early in the morning we have a good breakfast and then go out for hunting in a 4x4 vehicle. We take lunch with us to eat in the bush during the day. By sunset we return to camp where a tasty dinner with game dishes is waiting for us.
During your stay with us you will be guaranteed our only hunting guests.
